Tesla Enters Turkey: The Company Will Establish Fast-Charging Centers in 10 Cities

United States-based electric car manufacturer Tesla took action to establish charging stations in 10 Turkish cities. The company is planning to sell 4 electric car models in Turkey.

The use of electric vehicles is increasing in Turkey. In the last year, the electric vehicle market has increased by 237 percent in Turkey. In 2021, the total electric car market was recorded as 2,849 cars, which was only 844 in 2020.

The rising demand for electric vehicles in Turkey has drawn the attention of automobile manufacturers that have a voice in the global arena. It was announced that the US-based electric automotive giant Tesla brought all its models to the country with the Tesla Motors company he founded in Turkey.

Tesla Is Working on Its Turkey Operation

Tesla also rolled up its sleeves to establish its infrastructure before bringing all the models. In this context, charging stations will be established in 10 Turkish cities soon.

According to the official announcement shared on Tesla's website, the company will establish its supercharging stations in Istanbul, Ankara, Antalya, Aydin, Balikesir, Bursa, Edirne, Sakarya, Izmir, and Konya cities.

Celil Anik, President of Izmir Chamber of Drivers and Automakers, said, if the SCT problem is resolved and charging stations become widespread, we, as drivers and automakers, will urgently switch to electric vehicles.

Tesla Posted First Job Vacancies in Turkey

Electric vehicle giant Tesla, which continues to sell in the US and European markets, is expected to bring Model S, Model 3, Model X, and Model Y electric cars to Turkey soon. Tesla also posted a job posting for the office manager and sales consultant for Istanbul on the job postings page.

Although the exact date of the first incentives is unknown, it seems like Tesla will start its operations before the end of 2022. If you are planning to buy an electric vehicle in Turkey, then it may be the best time to do so.
